Proofs Came in the Mail!

Getting proofs for the cover and pages of my book is awesome. It means that I’m getting closer to having the final, printed book in my hands. Approving the proofs though is a little daunting. It means that the writing and design process is DONE! No more going back to correct typos or minor mistakes. No more going back and second-guessing if I got that one part of the story written in just the right way. The baby is officially being put to bed.

In some ways, seeing the proofs is an indication that the real work is about to begin… marketing!

It also means that it’s time to start hitting the pavement to let bookstores know that my book is coming down the pike. After all, no one else in the world, outside my small circle of friends, knows that my book — the book that took me years to write and get published — is going to be available in May of this year… unless I tell them!
